Moz Pro vs SE Ranking

Moz Pro and SE Ranking are the two suites people reach for when Semrush and Ahrefs feel like more tool than the job needs. They sit close on price — $99 against $129 for the entry tier — and both cover tracking, audits and keyword research. The difference is what you are paying for at that price: a reference metric and a gentle learning curve, or tracking volume and client reporting.

Our verdict

Choose Moz Pro if Domain Authority is part of how you or your clients talk about SEO. It remains an industry-standard reference metric, and Moz's campaign structure is approachable for people who are not full-time SEOs. Standard is $99 a month ($79 billed yearly) for one seat, three tracked sites and 300 tracked keywords; Medium is $179 and Large $299. Those keyword allowances are modest — 300 a month on the entry plan — and Moz's keyword and link indexes are smaller than the leaders, with less frequent updates. Choose SE Ranking if the job is tracking a lot and reporting on it. Core is $129 a month with daily rank checks on every plan and a site audit allowance of 250,000 pages, and the $69 Agency Pack adds white-label reports and 10 client seats. For an agency that has to show clients what happened each month, that reporting is the deciding feature and Moz has no equivalent. Neither is the right answer if link research is the main purchase — both have smaller indexes than Ahrefs or Semrush, and no amount of interface polish closes that gap. At the entry tier the trade is fairly clean: the gap between the two buys roughly five times the keyword tracking and the agency reporting, and costs you the metric your clients may already recognise.
