How VERILO works
VERILO is an independent software discovery platform. You describe what you need; we help you find, compare and choose.
The problem we are solving
Choosing software usually means reading twenty “best of” lists that were written to rank, not to help. VERILO replaces that with one structured catalogue and one honest question: what are you trying to accomplish?
How recommendations are ranked
The Finder turns your request into structured requirements (category, use case, features, budget, team size, integrations, platform) and scores every published tool against them. The scoring is deterministic and the weights are published here:
| Signal | Default weight |
|---|---|
| Primary intent (the kind of software you asked for) | 19% |
| Use-case fit | 17% |
| Requested features (must-haves count double) | 16% |
| Requested integrations (must-haves count double) | 10% |
| Team-size fit | 10% |
| Budget and free-plan fit | 10% |
| Editor rating | 5% |
| Ease of use | 5% |
| Editorial score | 5% |
| Data completeness and freshness | 5% |
Weights that do not apply to a request (for example integrations, when you did not mention any) are removed and the rest are re-balanced. A tool only appears if it matches the kind of software or the job you described; capability words such as “automation” are treated as requirements inside that kind of software, not as a different category. When you name a must-have and a tool lacks it, that tool’s score is capped. Every recommendation lists the reasons behind its score and the things to keep in mind.
What never affects rankings
- Whether a vendor has an affiliate program with us, or how much it pays.
- Whether a tool is featured on the homepage. Featured placement is an editorial choice and is labelled.
- Sponsorship of any kind. VERILO does not sell placement in recommendations.
Ratings
The star rating on each tool is a VERILO editorial rating based on features, pricing, ease of use and maturity. It is not a user-review score. User reviews will be shown separately once they exist and have been moderated, and we do not publish fabricated reviews, user counts or testimonials.
Data and freshness
Every tool page shows when its information and pricing were last reviewed. Prices change; always confirm on the vendor’s pricing page before you buy. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it.
How we make money
Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, VERILO may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships are recorded separately from the catalogue and are never an input to search or recommendations. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
