Microsoft Teams alternatives

People look past Microsoft Teams for one reason above all: they are not on Microsoft 365, and most of what makes Teams good is integration they would not be buying.

Slack is the natural comparison — a chat-first tool with a stronger app ecosystem and a culture of integrations, at a price you pay on top of whatever else you run rather than inside a suite you already own. Zoom is the choice when meetings rather than messaging are the centre of gravity.

If you are on Microsoft 365 and still unhappy, the honest question is whether the problem is Teams or the suite around it. Moving chat elsewhere while leaving mail, files and calendar in Microsoft 365 means running two systems that both want to be the place work happens.
