Otter.ai is a transcription and meeting-notes service. Its OtterPilot assistant joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls from a connected Google or Outlook calendar, records them, produces a live transcript with speaker labels, and generates a summary with action items afterwards. The mobile apps record in-person conversations and lectures, and audio or video files can be uploaded for transcription. Users range from students and journalists to sales and customer success teams, who can push call notes into Salesforce and HubSpot.

Transcripts are searchable, editable and shareable, with highlights, comments and an AI chat that answers questions across past meetings. A Meeting Agent introduced in 2025 can respond to questions during a call. Transcription covers English, Spanish and French, which is narrower than some competitors.

The free Basic plan allows 300 transcription minutes per month with a 30-minute cap per conversation and only three lifetime file imports. Pro costs $16.99 per month (approximately $8.33 per month billed annually) for 1,200 minutes and 90-minute conversations; Business is $30 per user per month ($20 annually) with 6,000 minutes, admin controls and usage reports; Enterprise is custom with SSO. Accuracy is good on clear audio and weaker with accents, jargon and crosstalk, and auto-join settings need managing so the bot does not appear in meetings uninvited.
