Overview
Zoom is a video meeting platform that has grown into Zoom Workplace, a suite that bundles meetings with Team Chat, Whiteboard, Notes, Clips and an AI Companion for meeting summaries, smart recordings and chat drafting. It is widely used for internal meetings, sales calls, classes, telehealth and large webinars, and its client apps run on every major desktop and mobile platform, with joining from a browser also supported.
Call quality and reliability on poor connections remain its main strengths, along with a large ecosystem: Google Calendar and Outlook add-ins, Slack and Microsoft Teams apps, CRM integrations and a marketplace of third-party apps. Paid plans include AI Companion at no extra cost. Zoom Phone, Webinars, Events and Rooms are separate products or add-ons with their own pricing.
The free Basic plan allows meetings of up to 100 participants but cuts group meetings off at 40 minutes.
