Figma
Editor’s pickCollaborative browser-based UI design, prototyping and developer handoff platform.
Overview
Figma is a collaborative interface design platform that runs in the browser and in desktop apps. Multiple people edit the same file at once, comments live on the canvas, and reusable components, variables and shared libraries let teams maintain design systems. The core product, Figma Design, sits alongside FigJam whiteboards, Dev Mode for developer handoff, Figma Slides, and newer products such as Figma Sites, Figma Make (prompt-to-prototype) and Figma Draw introduced in 2025. Figma became a public company in July 2025.
It is the default choice for product designers and the teams around them; the community offers many plugins, files and UI kits, and Dev Mode exposes measurements, tokens and code snippets. Interactive prototyping with variables and conditional logic is strong for a design tool, though not a substitute for code.
Pricing is per seat, with Full, Dev and Collab seat types; view-only seats are free. The Starter plan is free but caps the number of collaborative files. Professional costs $20 per Full seat per month billed monthly ($16 billed annually); Organization is $55 and Enterprise $90 per Full seat per month, billed annually only. The learning curve is real for non-designers, and seat management has become more complex since the 2025 pricing restructure.
